Call 8-1-1 BEFORE you dig!
You have heard it said and read it for years: “Call BEFORE you dig!” Here is a true story of what can happen if you don’t! Last fall a Heights Water customer was digging post holes in preparation for a fence on his property. He thought that he knew where the utilities were! Wham! The post hole digger hit his neighbor’s service line and there was a good sized leak! Heights got the call! It was the weekend and Heights’ staff wrapped a “repair band” around the break. A few days later a contractor repaired the leak. The total cost, including the lost water ($512), was $3,442!! Ouch! Therefore, one more time—Call 8-1-1 before you dig! The call and the locating service are FREE to you. Heights Water pays for every “locate” that is done in our service area. With your cooperation, we can avoid all preventable leaks …... and very costly repairs!
